Alan Rayment in 2005

25th November 1915 - 28th February 2006

Alan Rayment was born in Stretford near Manchester. He attended Urmston Grammar School from 1927.

He was in the Territorial Army and in 1939 joined the 209 Anti Aircraft Battery - 73rd Regiment of the Royal Artillery. During the Second World War he was on Anti Aircraft duties.

Alan lived and worked in Wolverhampton and Teddington and moved to the Portsmouth area in the early 1970's. He was a keen sports person and his interests included swimming, bowls, bridge and writing.
